“Making music and playing gigs were never just about the sound and harmony to me. Inspired by bands like Alice Cooper, The Velvet Underground, The Stooges I wanted to cater to all the senses. The songs and the stage had to explode. Literally. We claimed many a victim with Company of State, and I was always at the front when it came to spilling blood, sweat and tears. That’s how it should be, and how I still work. This also makes you kind of homeless, we weren’t part of any trend, we couldn’t be pigeonholed. Venus In Furs was the only cover we ever played and look, that’s the song that’s featured on this fabulous compilation album by a legendary label, from the trenches of the music scene.”
